EverGlow™ Christmas Tree Light Repair Gun

About this item

Stop tossing a whole string of lights over one dead bulb. The EverGlow™ Christmas Tree Light Repair Gun is an all-in-one repair tool for incandescent holiday light sets. It finds the fault, fixes it and gets your lights glowing again, so your tree, wreaths and garlands are ready for the season.

Dimensions: 9.75 in. (approx. 24.8cm)

7 tools in one:

  • Quick Fix Trigger - sends a pulse of electricity through the light set to fix a failed bulb
  • Audible Voltage Detector - beeps to help you find where the electricity stops in the light set
  • Bulb Puller - removes bulbs from their sockets safely
  • Bulb and Fuse Tester - checks whether a bulb or fuse is still working
  • LED Headlight - lights up the work area
  • Light Socket Connector - helps you work on the light socket
  • Storage Organizer - keeps spare bulbs and fuses together

How to use: there are two simple methods.

  • Quick Fix Trigger Method: a whole section usually goes dark because one bulb's shunt failed to kick in. With the set plugged in, remove one bulb from the dark section, push the empty socket onto the gun's light socket connector and pull the trigger a few times. The pulse can get the stuck shunt working so the section lights up again; then find the burnt-out bulb and replace it.
  • Audible Voltage Detector Method: if the lights are plugged in but not lit, the detector helps you find where the circuit is interrupted (a loose bulb, broken wire or missing bulb) so you can repair it and get the current flowing again.
  • Saves your favorite light sets instead of replacing them
  • Seven tools in one compact, easy-to-hold repair tool
  • Built-in LED headlight for working in dark corners and on the tree
  • Great for Christmas trees, pre-lit trees, wreaths, garlands and outdoor light displays

Works with: incandescent mini light sets. Not made for LED light sets, and it cannot repair cut or damaged wire.

For whoever does the Christmas lights

Half the string just went dark. Don’t throw it out.

On most mini light sets, one bad bulb can black out a whole section. The EverGlow™ Repair Gun helps you find the fault and fix it while the lights stay on the tree, so you’re not testing a hundred bulbs by hand or driving out for new strings.

You know the moment

The tree is wrapped. You plug it in. The bottom third stays dark.

You spent an hour winding the lights round every branch. Now one section won’t come on, and every bulb looks exactly the same.

So you have two choices. Unwrap the tree and test the bulbs one by one. Or give up, buy new strings and start the whole job again.

There’s a third choice.

Why one bulb takes out a whole section

The bulbs aren’t all dead. One tiny part got stuck.

Incandescent mini lights are wired in sections. Inside each bulb is a tiny shunt that’s meant to keep the electricity flowing when that bulb burns out. When a shunt fails to kick in, the circuit breaks and every bulb after it goes dark.

That’s why a whole section dies at once, and why it’s so hard to spot the culprit.

The Quick Fix Trigger sends a pulse of electricity through the set that can get a stuck shunt working again, so the section relights. Then the beeping voltage detector and bulb tester help you track down the burnt-out bulb and swap it.

Bulb & Fuse Tester: checks whether a bulb or fuse is still good.
Bulb Puller: pops bulbs out without hurting your fingers or the socket.
LED Headlight: lights up the branches while you work.
Light Socket Connector: plugs into an empty socket for the Quick Fix.
Storage Organizer: keeps spare bulbs and fuses in the handle.

What you’ve tried

The old ways cost you the whole evening

Testing every bulb by hand Pull, check, push back, repeat, for every bulb in a dark section.
Buying new strings More money every season, and you still have to unwrap the tree.
A basic bulb tester Only checks the bulb you already suspect. Finding it is the hard part.
Binning the pre-lit tree One dead section and a whole tree goes to the curb.
EverGlow™ Repair Gun Fix it from the string, with the lights still on the tree.

Simple as it gets

How to use the Quick Fix

  1. 1Pull one bulbRemove a bulb from the section that’s out, with the set plugged in.
  2. 2Connect and pull the triggerPush the empty socket onto the gun’s socket connector and pull the trigger a few times until the lights come back.
  3. 3Find and replaceUse the voltage detector and bulb tester to find the burnt-out bulb, then swap it for a spare.

Is it for you?

The EverGlow™ is made for homes where…

  • The pre-lit tree has one section that won’t come on
  • There are boxes of “broken” light strings in the loft or garage
  • The porch, roofline or wreath lights went out after a storm
  • Garlands and wreaths are wrapped too tight to unpick
  • You’re the one everyone calls when the lights stop working
